Nets' Brook Lopez: Ruled out Saturday
Lopez (rest) won't play in Saturday's game against the Bucks, Tom Lorenzo of Nets Daily reports.
Analysis:
Though the regular season just began, coach Kenny Atkinson doesn't appear eager to overwork Lopez, as the center will sit for the second half of a back-to-back set one night after putting up 25 points (10-18 FG, 0-4 3Pt, 5-6 FT) and five boards in Friday's win over the Pacers. After Lopez averaged 33.7 minutes per game a season, it appears the Nets are serious about trying to do a better job of limiting his workload, which should have a positive long-term impact but will hurt him in the fantasy realm. Justin Hamilton, who has gotten off to a nice start to the season in a reserve role, figures to slot in on the top unit in Lopez's place Saturday and might make for an enticing DFS option.
