Lakers' Lou Williams: Paces team in scoring off bench
Williams scored a team-high 17 points (6-12 FG, 3-4 3Pt, 2-2 FT) to go with six assists and one steal across 27 minutes in Friday's 96-89 loss to the Jazz.
Analysis:
After losing out on the starting shooting guard job to Nick Young following the conclusion of the preseason, Williams saw just 14 minutes in Wednesday's season opener against the Rockets, but benefited from an expanded workload Friday with much of the Lakers' backcourt struggling to provide scoring. As a high-usage player, Williams typically tops double digits in the scoring column even when he sees less than a full load of minutes, but his limited contributions in the defensive categories place somewhat of a ceiling on his fantasy appeal outside of deeper leagues.
