Bulls' Jimmy Butler: Shines in opener
Butler scored 24 points (6-17 FG, 4-6 3Pt, 8-12 FT) and added seven rebounds, three assists and two steals in 37 minutes during Thursday's 105-99 win over the Celtics.
Analysis:
Butler and Dwyane Wade (22 points) both seemed to mesh well in the first game for the new-look Bulls, while point guard Rajon Rondo racked up nine assists. It's still expected that Butler will sacrifice some production while playing alongside two historically high-usage players in Wade and Rondo, but for at least one game, the swingman coexisted with his new teammates.
