The Chicago Bulls have have officially signed free-agent shooting guard R.J. Hunter. It's a one-year contract, ESPN's Jeff Goodman reports.

Hunter was waived by the Boston Celtics last week despite being taken in the first round of the 2015 draft.

The 22-year-old failed to impress during his first year in the Association, averaging just 2.7 points, 1.0 rebounds, and 0.4 assists in 36 games.

Hunter could struggle to find minutes at shooting guard, sitting behind 12-time All-Star Dwyane Wade and first-rounder Denzel Valentine.

The Bulls' roster sat at only 14 players prior to the move, meaning they had an extra spot to sign Hunter.
