The NBA announced Friday an expansion of responsibilities for the Replay Center after receiving clearance from the Board of Directors.

Referees will continue to use courtside monitors to evaluate flagrant fouls, but officials in Secaucus, N.J. will assume most other scenarios that necessitate review. Incidents like clear-path fouls and foul calls concerning shot-clock violations will be assessed by the Replay Center.

The average review time dropped from 42 seconds in 2014-15 to 31.9 seconds in 2015-16 seconds following the introduction of the Replay Center.

The decision to trigger an on-court review, however, will still reside with officials in the arena.
