Mavericks' Harrison Barnes: Shooting only 23.5 percent in preseason
Barnes tallied eight points (1-9 FG, 0-3 3Pt, 6-6 FT) and three rebounds across 28 minutes in Wednesday's 106-91 preseason loss to the Rockets.
Analysis:
Barnes has yet to miss a single free throw over six preseason games, but that's about the only spot where he's shown even an ounce of efficiency. The 24-year-old has wilted at the prospect of taking on a larger role with the Mavericks, hitting 3-of-16 (18.7%) attempts from three-point range and 12-of-51 shots (23.5%) overall. The Mavericks won't overreact to a small preseason sample, but it may be hard for fantasy owners to justify selecting the slumping Barnes based on where his average draft position has landed.
