Celtics' Jaylen Brown: Nets 17 in start

Brown started at small forward and scored 17 points (5-14 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 5-10 FT) while adding three rebounds across 27 minutes in Wednesday's 121-96 preseason loss to the Knicks.

Analysis:

The Celtics rested four of their regular starters in the preseason finale, so Brown benefited from a higher-usage role than he'll enjoy when the regular season arrives. Though he posted a team-high scoring total, it came about in an inefficient manner, as he accumulated three turnovers and five fouls in addition to the poor shooting. Brown was considered raw when he was drafted No. 3 overall back in June, and this game is certainly emblematic of that.
