When Kevin Durant announced he was joining the Golden State Warriors, people wanted to know how his Oklahoma City Thunder co-star Russell Westbrook felt about it.

The All-NBA point guard initially refused to comment publicly, but it turns out he did express how he felt - through an inside joke.

After the "KDecision" was revealed through an article on The Players' Tribune on Independence Day, Westbrook posted this photo of American flag-themed cupcakes:

As a member of the Thunder, Kendrick Perkins called teammates "cupcake" if they were "acting a little soft," according to Lee Jenkins of SI. It was a term both KD and Russ picked up as a joke.

"Westbrook didn't disparage Durant. He didn't judge him. All he did was take a picture," recalled one of Westbrook's best friends, Donnell Beverly.

The 27-year-old has since shared his thoughts on KD's departure, though he's come short of actually calling him "soft."

Don't expect it to happen anytime soon, as Westbrook declared last week he won't answer any more questions about his former teammate.
