Hawks' Dwight Howard: Get double-double with four steals, three blocks in win
Howard registered 10 points (3-10 FG, 4-10 FT), 11 rebounds, four steals, three blocks and two assists across 24 minutes in Tuesday's 96-89 preseason win over the Pelicans.
Analysis:
Howard struggled to convert on his opportunities near the basket and at the free-throw line, but exerted his will on the defensive end, leading to a well-rounded stat line. There's some concern regarding how Howard and Paul Millsap will adapt to playing alongside one another, and even though the duo combined to go 4-for-17 from the field Tuesday, it's expected that they'll develop some continuity eventually. Regardless of whether Howard's efficiency suffers as a result, he'll still likely be in line for an uptick in scoring after averaging just 13.7 points per game with the Rockets last season, his worst mark since his rookie year.
