76ers' Nerlens Noel: Will sit out Thursday's preseason game

Noel will sit out Thursday's preseason game against the Wizards with a left groin strain, Keith Pompey of the Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

Analysis:

The injury seemingly comes out of nowhere, as Noel has been practicing with the Sixers and played 17 minutes during the team's preseason opener. More formal word on the extent of Noel's health should be available in the coming days, but the big man will sit out Thursday to avoid aggravating the injury any further. With Noel and Jahlil Okafor (knee) sidelined and Joel Embiid set to play only 12 minutes Thursday, Dario Saric, Jerami Grant and Richaun Holmes could be asked to pick up more playing time than normal.
