Curry: Fans 'buying into narrative' by booing Durant

While a number of Golden State Warriors were met with cheers during the team's preseason opener in Vancouver, Kevin Durant seemed to be the lone player who failed to receive any love north of the border.

Steph Curry appeared frustrated with the crowd for booing Durant, convinced that fans had no reason to heckle his new teammate.

"It's just funny, buying into a narrative that doesn't make sense," Curry told reporters following the game.

Whether it's right or wrong, Durant has received plenty of criticism since his decision to sign with Golden State this summer, with many believing he shouldn't be "chasing a ring" at this stage in his career.

Although the boos may have irked Curry, Durant didn't seem to mind,

"They cheer, they boo, it's all good," Durant told reporters.

While Durant claims the hostility didn't bother him, the seven-time All-Star struggled in his Warriors debut, finishing with nine points on just 2-of-9 shooting.

The Warriors return home to host the Los Angeles Clippers on Tuesday night, in what is sure to be a friendlier crowd towards Durant.
