Grizzlies unveil sleeved uniforms to be worn on MLK Day
The Memphis Grizzlies will don special jerseys for the 50th anniversary of Martin Luther King Day, the team announced Wednesday.
The uniform, seen below, features a wreath below the collar to commemorate the assassination of Martin Luther King Jr., which occurred on April 4, 1968, at the Lorraine Motel in Memphis. That location is now the site of the National Civil Rights Museum.

The Grizzlies approached the museum to create a jersey that would deliver a deeper understanding of the ongoing movements for social justice.
"As we created it, we wanted it to have a level of integrity, so we included the wreath and included the railing and the sign," National Civil Rights Museum president Terri Lee Freeman said in a statement.
"I think it has come out as a wonderful product, and think it will be great for the Grizzlies and the National Civil Rights Museum but also messaging that we need to always remember what happened and not forget about the work that has yet to be done. That’s exactly what the Museum does."
