Mavericks' Deron Williams: Receives doctor's clearance

Williams has been cleared by doctors to begin Mavericks' training camp, Mike Fisher of 105.3 The Fan and CBS Radio reports.

Analysis:

Williams underwent sports hernia surgery in July but has spent the past two months recovering and is now near or at full strength. The Mavs officially begin training camp on Sept. 27 which gives the 3-time All-Star an additional two weeks to return to full capacity. The 32-year-old guard is coming off his first season in the blue and white in which he averaged 14.1 points, 2.9 boards, and 5.8 assists over 32.4 minutes.
