Report: Celtics, Knicks to face off on Christmas Day
The Boston Celtics and New York Knicks will face off Dec. 25 as one of five Christmas Day games, The Ringer's Kevin O'Connor reports.
The league has yet to officially release its schedule for the 2016-17 season, but is expected to later this week.
Boston and New York will go into the new season with plenty of hype, as both squads have added significant pieces this summer. The Celtics strengthened their frontcourt with the addition of Al Horford, while the Knicks brought in two former All-Stars in Derrick Rose and Joakim Noah.
2016 will mark the 51st Christmas Day game for the New York - the most in league history - while the Celtics will play Dec. 25 for the 30th time.
The Cleveland Cavaliers and Golden State Warriors are also expected to play one another on Christmas in a rematch of the 2016 Finals.
