Trail Blazers' C.J. McCollum: Agrees to max contract extension with Portland
McCollum agreed Monday with the Trail Blazers on a four-year, $106 million max contract extension, Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports reports. The extension includes no options or trade kickers.
Analysis:
McCollum was a seamless fit as the second banana to Damian Lillard last season, averaging 20.3 points, 4.3 assists, 3.2 rebounds, 2.4 three-pointers and 1.2 steals across 34.8 minutes per game. At 24 years old, McCollum's future as a combo guard in the NBA looks bright, and the move also stabilizes the Blazers' backcourt for the next few years.
