Report: Mavericks in talks to bring back Rodrigue Beaubois
The Dallas Mavericks are currently in talks with guard Rodrigue Beaubois regarding his possible return to the franchise, league sources told ESPN's Marc Stein.
He reportedly had an audition for a roster spot on the New Orleans Pelicans, but they elected to sign Tim Frazier on a reported two-year, $4.1-million deal instead.
Beaubois, 28, was the 25th overall pick in the 2009 NBA draft by the Oklahoma City Thunder, who then traded him and a future second-round pick to the Mavericks in exchange for Byron Mullens.
Over the course of four seasons in the Lone Star State, the 6-foot-2 Frenchman averaged 7.1 points, 2.1 assists, and 1.9 rebounds over 182 appearances. He experienced a number of injuries during that span, including a fractured foot that kept him sidelined for six months in 2010-11.
He also underwent surgery to repair a fractured second metacarpal in his left hand near the end of the 2012-13 campaign.
In 34 appearances last season with French squad SIG Strasbourg, Beaubois averaged 16.2 points and 2.1 assists in 24.9 minutes.
