The San Antonio Spurs officially announced the signing of free-agent big man Pau Gasol on Thursday.

Gasol will earn in excess of $30 million over two season, according to The Vertical's Adrian Wojnarowski.

The 36-year-old spent last season with the Chicago Bulls, averaging 16.5 points, 11 rebounds, 4.1 assists, and two blocks on 46.9 percent, while being named an All-Star for the sixth time.

Gasol will help strengthen a Spurs frontcourt that lost Boris Diaw, David West, and the recently retired Tim Duncan this summer.

Gasol joins Dewayne Dedmon as San Antonio's newest offseason additions.
