Timberwolves waive Greg Smith

The Minnesota Timberwolves have waived big man Greg Smith, the team announced on Thursday.
Smith, 25, appeared in 18 games last season for the 29-53 Timberwolves, averaging 2.4 points and 2.3 rebounds on 56.3 percent shooting in 10.7 minutes off the bench.
He began his tenure with the team near the tail end of the campaign on back-to-back 10-day contracts before signing for the remainder of the year on March 23.
