Report: Nets tender qualifying offer to Markel Brown
Brett Davis / USA TODAY Sports
The Brooklyn Nets will tender a qualifying offer to Markel Brown, making him a restricted free agent, ESPN's Zach Lowe reports, citing sources.
Brown spent the last two seasons in Brooklyn, averaging 5.3 points, 2.1 rebounds, and 1.2 assists on 38.2 percent shooting in 109 games. After a slow start to the season, Brown averaged 8.8 points during the latter half of 2015-16.
Brown was drafted with the 44th pick in the 2014 Draft by the Minnesota Timberwolves, and was later traded to the Nets for cash.
The 24-year-old shooting guard earned just $845,059 during this past season.
