The Phoenix Suns may have appeared to pay a premium price to land the No. 8 selection in this year's draft, but it's difficult to blame the franchise for coveting Washington power forward Marquese Chriss.

Chriss showed off his incredible athleticism and ferocity during a pre-draft workout for the Suns, by breaking a rim after receiving a well-timed alley-oop.

"I wanted to give him the hardest pass to catch in the NBA, so he can dunk on a guy who jumps just as high as him, such as a (Hassan) Whiteside," head coach Earl Watson told Brendan Kennealy of arizonasports.com. "After he dunked it, bolts and screws fell out of the rim."

The 6-foot-10 power forward is considered one of the most explosive players from the draft and could have an immediate impact in his rookie season. The 18-year-old averaged 13.8 points and 5.4 rebounds last season, and rose up the draft boards after undergoing several impressive workouts.
