Bucks select Thon Maker with the 10th pick in the NBA Draft
The Milwaukee Bucks selected Thon Maker with the 10th pick in the 2016 NBA Draft.
Maker was once projected to go late in the first round or early in the second, so this is undoubtedly a major jump for the young big man. The Bucks certainly see major upside in this pick, adding yet another player with a massive wingspan who could do some damage on the defensive end.
Once considered a can't miss prospect, Maker's stock took a hit after reclassifying in 2015; returning to high school this past season.
With a 9-foot-3 standing reach, Maker has good length, and could one day develop into an elite shot blocker at the pro level. The 19-year-old has a high motor, and remains physical despite his slender frame.
Maker has added some muscle over the last couple years, but remains thin, and will need to continue to put on weight to succeed at the pro level. Maker is still very raw, and must begin to develop some sort of offensive game moving forward.
