The Memphis Grizzlies have selected Vanderbilt's Wade Baldwin with the 17th pick in the 2016 NBA Draft.

With Mike Conley potentially leaving as an unrestricted free agent in the offseason, Baldwin could be a replacement for the standout point guard.

Baldwin has good size at 6-foot-4 and is a strong rim-attacking guard. His 6-foot-11 wingspan and his aggressive nature makes him a plus defender. He averaged 14.1 points, 5.2 assists, and 1.2 steals per game with the Commodores, and was pegged as the fourth-best point guard in the draft.

Whether or not he plays the point at the NBA level remains in question. Baldwin isn't a great ball handler and lacks the natural instincts to play the position.
