The Milwaukee Bucks have finalized a three-year contract extension worth $18 million with head coach Jason Kidd, ESPN's Marc Stein reports, citing sources. The deal will take him through the 2019-20 season.

Kidd was entering the final year of the three-year deal he signed with the Bucks in 2014 prior to the extension.

Kidd has accumulated a record of 74-90 in two seasons with Milwaukee. After reaching the postseason in Kidd's inaugural season with the team, the Bucks fell short of expectations in 2015-16, finishing 12th in the East at 33-49.

After finishing second in defensive efficiency in 2014-15, Kidd's Bucks fell dramatically this season, dropping to 22nd in the league. The offense improved slightly, but was still poor overall, ranking 24th in the NBA.

Kidd served as the Brooklyn Nets coach prior to joining Milwaukee, going 44-38 during his lone season with the team. The 43-year-old tied for eighth in Coach of the Year voting that year.
