Magic Johnson trash-talked Michael Jordan once and paid the price

Magic Johnson told late-night host Jimmy Kimmel on Friday that he learned the hard way never to trash talk Michael Jordan during a "Dream Team" Olympic scrimmage in 1992.

Johnson's team was up 12-2 over Jordan's at the time, so he decided to get under his skin.

"So I went over to him, tapped him on the shoulder, and said, 'Hey man, if you don't turn into Air Jordan, we're going to blow you out today,'" Johnson recalled. "Jimmy, his eyes got big. Usually that tongue comes to about right here, now it's way out.

"They broke the huddle, he hit a three, and he's looking at me," Johnson continued, sticking out his tongue. "He came down again, hit another 3."

Johnson said what followed was the greatest shot he had ever witnessed.
