Pacers' Turner to participate with USA Basketball select team

Indiana Pacers big man Myles Turner had a long haul in his rookie season, going from a draftee widely viewed as raw, to being sidelined for a month-and-a-half with a hand injury, to starting in the playoffs.
Turner has now accepted an invitation to join this summer's USA Basketball select team, which will practice and scrimmage against the Olympic team. It's an honor given to younger players, and is generally a precursor to deeper involvement with the national program.
From February on, the 20-year-old Turner averaged 11 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 1.5 blocks on 49 percent shooting in 26 minutes per game.
