The Golden State Warriors will interview Portland Trail Blazers assistant coach Nate Tibbetts Monday, according to sources of The Vertical's Adrian Wojnarowski. The Warriors are looking to fill the role of top assistant Luke Walton, who will depart after this season to take the reins of the Los Angeles Lakers.
Tibbetts, 39, is a highly regarded assistant in NBA circles. The Warriors reportedly interviewed another rising star, Stephen Silas, for the position, and the two are the top candidates to become Steve Kerr's right-hand man, according to Wojnarowski.
Tibbetts also reportedly interviewed with the Memphis Grizzlies for their head coaching vacancy.
