Thursday's news conference with Indiana Pacers president Larry Bird should clear up the mystery regarding coach Frank Vogel's future, but a onetime Pacer has chimed in with support for his former head coach:
Please @Pacers DO NOT fire Frank Vogel!!
— Danny Granger (@dgranger33) May 5, 2016
Granger played for Vogel in Indiana for three seasons before injuries derailed his career once and for all. The respect is mutual: After Granger left the Pacers, Vogel told reporters "I'm probably not the coach of this team if not for Danny Granger."
Granger was cut this season during training camp by the Detroit Pistons and has since worked as a broadcaster.
