Kemba Walker's poor shooting display in Charlotte's first-round loss to the Miami Heat may have a physical explanation, as the Hornets point guard underwent surgery Monday to repair a torn left meniscus.
The procedure, which was completed by the team's physician, will keep Walker away from basketball activities until early July.
The 26-year-old was a borderline All-Star this season, averaging a career-high 20.9 points on an effective field-goal percentage of 49.5 for the 48-win Hornets. Walker, who also averaged 5.2 assists, 4.4 rebounds, and 1.6 steals in 35.6 minutes per contest during the regular season, shot just 36.6 percent from the field and 32.6 percent from deep in the Hornets' seven-game series against the Heat.
