Spurs to rest Duncan vs. Warriors

The San Antonio Spurs will rest Tim Duncan in Sunday's matchup against the Golden State Warriors, with David West starting in his place.
The decision to sit Duncan should not come as a major surprise, as he has struggled mightily against the Warriors this season. The 39-year-old has totaled just five points on 2-of-7 shooting in his two prior games against Golden State.
Duncan is averaging 8.5 points, 7.3 rebounds, and 2.3 assists in 60 games this season. The Wake Forest product has remained effective defensively, leading the NBA in ESPN's defensive real plus-minus (5.59).
San Antonio (65-14) can become the first NBA team to start this season 40-0 at home with a victory over the Warriors at the AT&T Center.
