Chase Elliott: Fifth-Place at Monster Mile

Elliott finished fifth in the Wurth 400 NASCAR Cup Series race at Dover Motor Speedway Sunday afternoon.

Analysis:

Elliott and the No. 9 team stayed on a roll with a good performance Sunday at the Monster Mile. The Hendrick Motorsports star would overcome a poor qualifying effort and come from 29th on the starting grid, patiently through traffic. Elliott would crack the Top 10 by the end of stage 1 and work his way forward from there. He didn't have the speed to lead any laps, but Elliott would secure Top-5 track position late and hang on for the strong fifth-place finish. It was his fourth Top 5 in the last five events.
