William Byron: Third on Bristol Dirt

Byron finished third in the Weather Guard Truck Race on Dirt NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race at Bristol Motor Speedway on Dirt Saturday night.

Analysis:

Byron was one of a handful of Cup Series hoppers to invade the trucks at Bristol. He'd pilot the No. 51 Chevrolet and do a masterful job. Byron would start 14th on the grid and work his way patiently to the front. He could never get to the lead, but he'd catch the leaders by the closing laps. A late caution would give him some hope, but he'd barely be able to hold off Matt Crafton to secure the strong third-place finish. It was Byron's first truck series Top 5 of the season and 13th of his career in this division of NASCAR.
