Rob Gronkowski will drive pace car at NASCAR Xfinity Chicagoland race
Gronk Nation is getting ready to take NASCAR by storm.
New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski will serve as Grand Marshal of the June 20th Xfinity Series race at Chicagoland Speedway with four of five Gronk brothers - Gordie Jr., Chris, Dan and Glenn - serving as co-marshals.
Meanwhile, with the race taking place on Fathers Day weekend, Rob's father Gordy Sr. will be the honorary starter. The three-time Pro Bowler and Super Bowl champion had this to say in a track release.
"I'm stoked to spend Father's Day weekend with my family at Chicagoland Speedway. Not only are we coming from all over the country to celebrate the best dad in the world, but I get the ultimate adrenaline rush of getting behind the wheel and driving the pace car to kick-off the NASCAR race.
"It's going to be an awesome weekend."
Knowing Gronk, that will surely be an understatement.
