Chase Elliott: Spin and Poor Finish
Elliott spun late and finished 21st in the O'Reilly Auto Parts 253 at Daytona International Speedway Road Course Sunday afternoon.
Analysis:
It certainly wasn't the finish that the defending NASCAR Cup Series champion was looking for Sunday in Daytona. Elliott led a race high 44 laps and easily won stage 1. A stage 3 pit stop would put him back in some traffic, but Elliott was quickly working his way back to the front. However, with 6 laps to go the driver of the No. 9 Chevrolet would spin in turn 5. Elliott would fall back in the field and finish a disappointing 21st-place.
