Bubba Wallace: Runner-up Finish in Duel 2
Wallace finished second in the Bluegreen Vacations Duel 2 for the Daytona 500 at Daytona International Speedway Thursday night.
Analysis:
Wallace started on the outside pole and would lead 3 laps in the early going of this 60-lap qualifier. The 23XI driver's first live action of 2021 would not disappoint. Wallace battled among the leaders the entire race and had the lead on the white flag lap. However, he could not hold off the brilliant maneuver of Austin Dillon coming off turn 4 and would lose the lead within site of the finish line. The runner-up finish was still a strong result and Wallace will roll off sixth on the grid in Sunday's Daytona 500 as a result.
