Martin Truex Jr.: Texas Penalty
NASCAR sent three cars to the rear of the field and confiscated the spoiler for the No. 19 car of Truex Jr. in the Cup Series before Sunday's Autotraders EchoPark Automotive 500 at Texas Motor Speedway.
Analysis:
Truex will have to start from the rear of the field Sunday as a result of the pre-race inspection failures. In addition, the sanctioning body confiscated the rear spoiler of the No. 19 Toyota and ejected Truex's crew chief from the race track. The team will get hit with an additional $35,000 fine and the loss of 20 owner/driver points. These penalties will make it extremely difficult for Truex to compete for the win Sunday at Texas Motor Speedway.
