MARTINSVILLE, Va. (AP) Chip Ganassi Racing officials say Kyle Larson has been taken to a hospital as a precaution after fainting during an autograph session at Martinsville Speedway on Saturday.
Chip Ganassi says Larson fainted at Chevy Stage in the fan area. He says Larson is awake and alert and was aware of where he was and even how his practice session had gone earlier in the day.
Ganassi says the trip to the hospital was precautionary and he was hopeful that the driver would be cleared to race on Sunday. Larson qualified seventh for the 500-lap Sprint Cup Series event.
