Alex Bowman: Fifth-Place at the Monster Mile
Bowman finished fifth in the Drydene 311 at Dover International Speedway Sunday afternoon.
Analysis:
The Hendrick Motorsports veteran fought incredible odds Sunday at Dover. Bowman started from the rear of the field after failing pre-race inspection. He would fight uphill from there to navigate the 40-car field. With good racing and good pit stops Bowman would finish stage 2 in seventh-place. The final stage would see him race among the Top 10 the rest of the way and battle among the leaders. The final 50 laps would see Bowman push inside the Top 5 and finish the race fifth at the checkered flag. It was an incredible performance and third Top-5 finish of the season.
