Cole Custer: Crash and DNF at Michigan
Custer crashed and finished 34th in the Firekeepers Casino 400 at Michigan International Speedway Saturday afternoon.
Analysis:
The surging rookie got a wake up call in this outing at Michigan. Custer had a solid first two stages, but some hard racing put him in the wall. Later on it would lead to a tire failure on lap 150. Custer would smack the outside wall of turn 3 hard and it would put an end to his day. The DNF was his third of the season, and snapped a two-race Top-10 streak for the No. 41 team. Custer will look to rebound in the second race of the Michigan doubleheader Sunday afternoon.
