Chase Elliott: Fails Inspection Twice
The No. 9 Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet of Elliott failed pre-qualifying inspection twice at Las Vegas Motor Speedway on Saturday, NASCAR.com reports.
Analysis:
The No. 9 Chevrolet had lots of trouble making it through tech Saturday at Las Vegas. Because of the two inspection failures, Elliott will lose his car chief for the remainder of the weekend. He has been ejected from the track. Elliott will also lose 15 minutes of practice time next weekend at Auto Club Speedway. The car passed third inspection which prevented the young driver from starting at the rear of the field Sunday in the Pennzoil 400.
