Matt Tifft: Hospitalized at Martinsville
Tifft was transported to a local hospital before Saturday's opening Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series practice at Martinsville Speedway. Matt Crafton filled in for the Front Row Motorsports No. 36 team for practice and was expected to be in the seat for the rest of the day, NASCAR.com reports.
Analysis:
There was no word on what medical condition was the reason for Tifft's hospitalization. He had visited the infield care center at the track, and was later loaded onto an ambulance by stretcher. Crafton will replace Tifft in the No. 36 Ford for the remainder of Saturday. There is no word on whether Tifft will be able to compete in Sunday's First Data 500.
