Chase Elliott: Advances in Chase for the Cup
Elliott finished second in the Hollywood Casino 400 at Kansas Speedway Sunday afternoon.
Analysis:
Elliott didn't have the speed of the faster Toyotas, but he chased them hard for 400-miles at Kansas Speedway. The driver of the No. 9 Chevrolet got the break of a late caution and restart, and that allowed Elliott to race past Kyle Busch for second-place. That spot would prove to be huge as he knocked Brad Keselowski from the Top 8 in points, and as able to make the cutoff for the Round of 8 in the Chase. It was Elliott's 11th Top-5 finish of the season.
