Chase Elliott: Wins Talladega Pole
Elliott won the pole for the 1000Bulbs.com 500 at Talladega Superspeedway Saturday afternoon. He turned a fast lap of 192.707 mph.
Analysis:
Elliott threw a huge number up on the board and knocked Aric Almirola from atop the scoring pylon during pole qualifying at the Alabama oval. The driver of the No. 9 Chevrolet led a Hendrick Motorsports assault on the field as all four teams swept the top four starting spots for Sunday's race. It was Elliott's fourth pole position of the season, and eighth of his career. He'll be a top contender to win Sunday at Talladega Superspeedway.
