Daniel Suarez: Fifth-Place at Michigan
Suarez finished fifth in the Consumers Energy 400 at Michigan International Speedway Sunday afternoon.
Analysis:
Suarez was able to manage his fuel mileage and put together a good pit strategy on an afternoon when many teams struggled with managing their fuel. A bad set of tires in stage 2 would slow his efforts, but Suarez would move his way forward over the final stage. The good track position he would gain on pit road would pay off as the young driver raced into the Top 5 over the final 48 laps of green-flag racing. It was his third Top-5 finish of the season, and second Top 5 this season at the Michigan oval.
