Alex Bowman: Top-5 Finish at Charlotte
Bowman finished fourth in the Bank of America Roval 400 at Charlotte Motor Speedway Sunday afternoon.
Analysis:
It was one of the best performances of the season for Bowman and the No. 88 team. They had the right pit strategy for this technical course. Bowman's simple approach would help him to keep optimal track position all afternoon, and never fall too far into the field. In the closing laps he would avoid the major crash in turn 1 during the lap 105 restart. That would be the key to a great finish. Bowman would cross the finish line fourth after the final front stretch mayhem played out among the leaders. It would be his third Top-5 finish of the season, and enough points to get him through into the next round of the Chase for the Cup.
