Darrell Wallace Jr.: Suffers Scary Crash at Pocono
Wallace Jr. crashed and finished 33rd in the Gander Outdoors 400 at Pocono Raceway Sunday afternoon.
Analysis:
The driver of the No. 43 Ford had one of the scariest crashes of the season Sunday at the Pocono tri-oval. His machine would suffer a catastrophic brake failure on lap 153 going into turn 1. Wallace would dive into the infield grass to try to slow the vehicle. As the car came back up on the racing surface he would careen sideways into the turn 1 wall at high speed. The damage would be total to his No. 43 Ford, and the emergency crews would have to help a wobbly Wallace from his car window. He would later check out medically at the infield care center, and be released. It was just Wallace's second DNF of the season.
