Trevor Bayne: Slated to share No. 6 car with Kenseth
Roush Fenway Racing announced Wednesday that Kenseth would be added to its roster and share the No. 6 Ford Fusion with Bayne this season, Nick DeGroot of Motorsport.com reports.
Analysis:
Roush's reunion with Kenseth, who previously drove for the team from 1999 through 2012, is expected to result in a lighter schedule for Bayne, who currently sits 26th in the NASCAR Cup series standings. After claiming the checkered flag in the Daytona 500 in 2011, the 27-year-old Bayne hasn't found much success on the top circuit. Since driving on a full-time basis for Roush in 2015, Bayne has managed no victories, with a pair of third-place finishes representing his best results. Kenseth is scheduled to make his season debut May 12 at Kansas Speedway, but it's unclear how many appearances he'll make in the No. 6 car beyond that.
