Madison Rising’s national anthem before Saturday's Nationwide race raises eyebrows
NASCAR hasn’t been doing a solid job as of late in picking entertainers to sing The Star-Spangled Banner, and Saturday was no different.
Before Saturday’s Drive4COPD 300 Nationwide race, self-proclaimed “America’s most patriotic rock band” Madison Rising took to the stage to perform the anthem. It started out normal, and then… well… this happened:
While freedom of expression is encouraged, I don’t think the anthem, ESPECIALLY at a NASCAR race is the time to voice said freedom. Driver Brad Keselowski appeared to be humored by the entire performance, as seen by his facial expression:

After their performance, they took to their Facebook page with a post starting with, “Some people STILL haven't heard our Star Spangled Banner. We need to change that.”
Keselowski summed up the entire performance after the race, with this tweet.
Didn't hear one
@dayhay3: @keselowski what did you think of the national anthem today?”

A lot more people will hear this performance, and unfortunately, I don’t think for the right reasons.
