Daniel Suárez: Runner-up Finish at Atlanta
Suarez finished second in the Quaker State 400 NASCAR Cup Series race at Atlanta Motor Speedway Sunday night.
Analysis:
Suarez would overcome starting 29th on the grid and make a steady, consistent move towards the front. It would not be until the early laps of stage 3 that the Trackhouse Racing veteran would crack the Top 10 and continue moving forward. The multiple cautions would aid that move up. The final 15 laps of green-flag racing before rain showers moved in would see Suarez get around AJ Allmendinger and lock into the runner-up spot when the race was called due to rain. It was just his second Top 5 of the season.
