Denny Hamlin: Top-5 Finish at Phoenix
Hamlin finished fourth in the Season Finale 500 at Phoenix Raceway Sunday afternoon.
Analysis:
Sunday's season finale would end up being Hamlin's best performance in the second-half of the Chase. The driver of the No. 11 Toyota didn't have the speed to lead laps, but he ran among the Top 5 the entire race. Hamlin would parlay that good track position into a challenge for the win down the stretch. However, the veteran driver just didn't have the speed to track down a seemingly invincible Chase Elliott. The fourth-place finish was Hamlin's 18th Top 5 of the season and he finishes the season fourth overall in the championship standings.
