McMahon working with Gracie on jiu-jitsu ahead of Undertaker match
Brazilian jiu-jitsu pioneer Renzo Gracie believes his family's famed fighting style will be the key to Shane McMahon defeating The Undertaker at WrestleMania 32.
As one of McMahon's coaches, Gracie is optimistic of the battling businessman's upcoming performance on Sunday due to the work they've been putting in at Gracie's gym in Manhattan.
"In reality, Shane trains with us for over eight years. He's been training with us for a long time and then he moved out for a few years, on this period he had to leave for a few years, and then he came back. He's in the best shape of his life," Gracie told Sirius XM Rush.
"I couldn't believe the shape that he's in. He's been training a lot of Muay Thai with Phil Nurse, who is the coach for Georges St-Pierre and a lot of other good guys, and he's in really good shape for this match, for this show that they are putting up in the Dallas arena."
The 46-year-old McMahon recently returned to the WWE to challenge The Undertaker at the annual super show, and Gracie expects McMahon's grappling training to give him a unique edge.
"Definitely, I see it for sure because he's moving well and transitions well into positions," Gracie said. "So when he grapples, when he wrestles his partner The Undertaker, for sure he will do well."
Hopefully, McMahon will connect with a slick submission so he doesn't have to resort to his top-rope tactics as he did Monday when he put "The Deadman" through a table with a flying elbow drop:
